Synopsis

 Burning for you
Some men are off-limits. Close friends of your ex-husband, for instance. Or fire-fighters who work in the same building as you. Yet despite her best judgment, librarian Lauren Foster can't help noticing fire captain Jake Davis whenever he jogs by…shirtless. They've always been friends, but all it takes is one not-so-chance meeting at a local bar and one not-quite-innocent walk home to ignite a fierce, uncontrollable desire between them.
Widower Jake Davis has tried to ignore the spark he feels whenever Lauren's around, but once he sees her curves in a little black dress, there's no turning back. No matter how often she says she's all wrong for him, the sexy, outspoken divorcée is driving him wild in the best possible way. Maybe she's just blowing off steam. Or maybe he can convince her to fan these flames into something deeper, hotter and truer than they ever expected….

My review

This is a short story written by Victoria but it is really worth the read the book itself is only about 80 pages but well worth the read , This is a really sweet storyline involving a middle age couple learning what it means to get back on the horse and start dating again , I really liked this story it was really well written and the characters are fantastic , with some short reads I find most authors don't tie in the lose ends but that isn't the case with Victoria . Even though this was a short story there wasn't any lose ends and all is explained . It does leave it so there could be another after this one but it also doesn't have to be .
Jake is a Captain at the local fire fighter station , he is a widow of 5 yrs and in some ways is still missing  his wife . He is a 46 yr old with a secret crush on one of his friends ex wives . Who also happens to be the Librarian. He is shy and unsure of getting back on the horse.
Lauren is a divorcée who works at the local library and she is starting to really feel her age of 44 . She has a complex about who she is , even though she seems to think everyone is okay within themselves she doesn't have that same complex when it comes to herself . She has been in love with Jake for a few years without saying anything to him.
The fire station is right next door to the library what can go wrong right ? Shouldn't these two be able to get it together? This is really complicated due to the fact that Lauren was friends with Jakes dear departed wife , and Jake happens to still be friends with Laurens ex husband .
This is one of those stories that talk about finding love again after being hurt and it is also a discovery that no matter the age or what stands between love should always be given a go , This really is a sweet and loving story , my only concern with this story isn't is wasn't long enough . I haven't read anything from this Author before but I will be picking up her books in the future .This is well worth adding to your TBR files and brought once released.
